Who we are

Mia Invest is a product of Mia IP, operated by Voyage Manager Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 07365818), registered office 48 Gunhild Way, Cambridge CB1 8RB, United Kingdom. Voyage Manager Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed by Mia Invest.

What we collect

Account data. Your email address, an optional display name, your password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form), and sign-in timestamps. This account is shared across the Mia family of applications.

Portfolio data. Mia Invest reads the holdings you maintain in Mia Accounting — names, tickers, quantities, cost basis, currency, valuations and which account or wrapper each sits in. It does not keep its own copy of these; it reads them where they already are.

Watchlist data. Symbols you choose to watch, along with any target price and notes you add.

Market data. Prices and company fundamentals fetched from a third-party market-data provider and cached. This is information about securities, not about you.

Technical data. Standard server logs and the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

How we use it

To authenticate you, display and price your portfolio, compute quantitative signals, and generate written commentary. We also use it to keep the service secure and working.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles for marketing.

Legal basis

We process your data to perform the contract between us (providing the service you've signed in to use), and on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and functioning.

Third parties

Market data provider. We send security identifiers (tickers) to fetch prices and fundamentals. We do not send your name, your holdings, your quantities or anything else identifying you.

Anthropic (Claude). To generate written commentary we send the computed signals and portfolio context needed to explain them. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. Do not enter anything into free-text fields that you wouldn't want processed this way.

Microsoft Azure. The application and its database are hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure within the United Kingdom or European Economic Area.

Where your data is held

In a private SQL database shared with the other Mia applications, hosted on Microsoft Azure. Access is restricted to the operators of the service. Data may be transferred outside the UK or EEA where a third-party processor operates internationally; where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Account and portfolio data are kept for as long as your account is active. Cached market data and price history are retained to support historical analysis. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data unless we're required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we process it, and receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, contact us at info@miabazo.com.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Mia Invest uses only the cookies required to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

We'll update this page if our practices change, and revise the date at the top.
